Erneuter Einspringer für Evgenia Rubinova! Am 25. Mai 2008 spielt sie in der "Royal Festival Hall" Schumanns Klavierkonzert mit dem London Philharmonic Orchestra unter Vladimir Jurowski. Sie vertrat Hélène Grimaud.

George Hamilton schrieb am 31. Mai 2008 in "The Independent": "Last Sunday night duly arrived, and there we were, in the wonderful space that is the Royal Festival Hall just by Waterloo Station, sipping a pre-concert cocktail while we opened the programme. Out of which fluttered a flyer. ‘We regret,’ we read, the collective jaw dropping in disbelief, ‘that Hélène Grimaud has had to withdraw from this evening's concert owing to a minor hand injury.’ I'm sorry for her trouble, but to imply that she might just have broken a nail did considerable disservice to the punters like us who'd had this night in the diary because of the name on the marquee. Having said that, the LPO found us an exquisitely able deputy in the person of Evgenia Rubinova, a native of Tashkent in Uzbekistan. A perfectly-coiffed pixie in a bright red evening gown, and a decade less experienced than La Grimaud, she delivered a polished performance, her energy and charm the ideal foil for a concerto that had its genesis in the composer's love for his pianist wife. To watch from close range as Rubinova's athletic hands scampered up and down the Steinway, for all the world like the squirrels we'd enjoyed in Kensington Gardens in the sunshine of the afternoon, was an absolute highlight."

Und Geoff Diggines schrieb in "musicweb-international.com" am 25. Mai 2008: "She played the first movement cadenza splendidly however, coming fully into her own more expressive conception of the piece. This is certainly not how Grimaud would have played it but Rubinova’s rendition was satisfying in its own terms, reminding me in parts of older pianists like Clara Haskil, or even Arrau."
